Via The Dead Parrot Society comes this note that Samurai Jack is ending on Cartoon Network. On Saturday, September 27, starting at 7 PM ET/PT, the final four 30-minute episodes will be shown at the top of each hour until 10 PM. Alternating between the Samurai Jack episodes will be the first 20 episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars, shown in blocks of five. Animated Bliss has the complete schedule and episode list for the evening.
Samurai Jack has been one of the most enjoyable animated shows I have ever watched. It is a triumph of animation and visualization, one so complete that several episodes have almost no dialog. That's not to say the dialog isn't great when it's there! One of my favorite lines comes from The Scotsman: "Strong words, comin' from a man wi' a basket on 'is head!" Someday I'll be able to use that in conversation. And actually have it work.
